Not every bingo site lasts forever. In recent times the number of closures has been considerable, especially on the Cozy Games platform. Below you’ll find sites that have recently shut their doors. We’ve left their last review in place purely for information purposes only. If you have accounts with any of these brands then the best advice is to contact the platform that they were on. Details should be within the reviews.
Why do bingo sites close? Unfortunately it all comes down to simple economics. Since The Government introduced heavy tax burdens on online gambling it’s made profitability on some sites impossible. Smaller brands can’t afford to market themselves in the same way as Gala and Mecca for example. Many used to be able to use social media as a way of developing communities, but Facebook introduced tougher measures and closed down business pages advertising bingo brands. Our own Prize Bingo and Snappy Bingo suffered this fate.
Many of the closed brands are white labels. Basically a third party bingo platform (Cozy, Jumpman etc) that’s rebranded. The UK market is quite saturated so to attract players you need to invest. However the product at the end of the line needs to be good and in many cases it’s not. Snappy on Cozy was a sluggish site with average games and promotions. Prize was on a good platform but one that prefers it’s participants to throw money at it. Inevitably both spiralled to the point of closure. We expect many more sites to follow suit.
