After a relatively quiet few months in the online bingo world things are really starting to get interesting. The biggest event of 2021 so far has been the move from Virtue Fusion to Entain by Gala Bingo. This switch hasn’t exactly been embraced by die-hard players who have been disappointed by the lack of warning and perceived quality of the new platform. However things are going to get even more exciting because there’s potentially another platform move on the cards.
Double Bubble Bingo
Heart Bingo has been a stalwart of the Gamesys platform for over 10 years now. Whilst slightly overshadowed by Jackpotjoy we’ve always thought it to be a quality site for players, especially when it comes to prizes and promos. When Sun Bingo left Gamesys for Virtue Fusion it really stepped up to fill the void. News reaches us that Heart will soon be off to pastures new and to fill that hole will be the recently launched Double Bubble Bingo. This new brand launched at the start of August and players with old Heart Bingo accounts will be able to login to the site with the same credentials.
Bubble Up Bingo
The new Double Bubble Bingo is Heart Bingo in all but name. It has the same bingo rooms including Candy Club, Picnic Time, Festival Time and Front Room. These are joined by the networked games like Blox Bingo, Crystal Maze Bingo and the recently launched Bubble Up Bingo. The latter we’d expected to be exclusive to Double Bubble but it’s also available on Jackpotjoy and Virgin Games. As well as the popular bingo rooms players can also enjoy their favourite slots, slingo and live game shows. In addition the free to play daily games like Daily Paper and Doubly Bubbly are available.
What Next For Heart Bingo?
So what’s going to happen with Heart Bingo? Well the word on the grapevine is that it’s switching to a new platform powered by Pragmatic Play. An early version of the new brand is currently accessible at Hbingo – but we believe that this will be renamed at the start of September. To date there’s been no word on what’s happening with Smooth! This is a big move for Heart and it’s going to be intriguing to see how players react to this switch. Will they move to the new platform or instead stay on Gamesys with Double Bubble? Pragmatic Play is a good platform but we don’t feel it’s quite made a big enough impact.
Do Platform Changes Work?
Moving a brand to a new platform is a huge risk and it’s hard to remember any recent successes. Bingo Extra moved from Daub to Dragonfish in the last 12 months and has never been heard of since. Mirror Bingo are enjoying some success with Jumpman/Pragmatic Play but the jury is out on whether it’s been a huge hit since leaving Virtue Fusion. Sun Bingo’s move from Gamesys to Virtue Fusion can be viewed as successful, especially with three awards in the 2021 Which Bingo Awards. Like Gala we suspect Heart will need to work hard to convince players that the move is for the best. And Heart’s task is made even harder when players can stay in the comfort of Double Bubble Bingo.
