Rio Bingo was the surprising addition to the Costa and Sing Bingo stable back in 2014. The site most likely inspired by The World Cup of that year is incredibly vibrant and colourful. When it launched there were plenty of references to Brazil including the Christ the Redeemer, football, Mardi Gras masks and Macaws. It was all very enticing and looked great! However this Brazilian theme didn’t sit with the folks at UKGC and it’s long since been dropped. Thankfully there’s still free bingo rooms, slots and other great games to enjoy – even if the site has quite become as popular as a summer evening on Copacabana Beach.

Rio Bingo Review

Rio Bingo Welcome Offer

New players to Rio Bingo are welcomed with a free bingo ticket promotion on first deposit. Deposit £10 to receive 120 free bingo tickets that can be used in selected rooms. There's 30 tickets per room and 4 rooms to visit. The rooms are Ticket To Ride, Just The Ticket, Golden Ticket and Choo Choo Ticket. Any wins generated from the free tickets in these rooms are paid to you as cash and therefore no wagering terms apply. Withdrawal terms do apply. Further free ticket offers are available on second and third deposits. There are 60 and 30 free tickets on offer respectively.

No Deposit Free Bingo

A no deposit bingo room is available for new players. The Bingo Academy is open for 48 hours after registration at Rio Bingo. Free games play in this room every 15 minutes and give you the chance to win small prizes. These are 25p for 1L, 50p for 2L and £1 for the full house. All prizes are paid in cash so no wagering terms apply, but withdrawal terms will apply to wins generated in this room.

Rio Bingo Rooms

As well as free bingo, Rio Bingo offers a 75 ball, 75 ball 5 Line, 90 ball and 52 ball bingo. The latter is a card based version of bingo that uses playing cards instead of bingo numbers. A bit like Cinco that you can find at Tombola. There's also the aforementioned Bingo Academy as well as jackpot rooms. Penny Bingo fans should check out the promotions as this network of sites host 1p games every day from 2pm to midnight.

Slots At Rio

Rio Bingo has the usual selection of Dragonfish slots which can be found via the lobby. Featured titles include Starburst, Pigasus, Shopping Spree, Irish Luck, Pay Of The Dead and Lost Island. You can find slots via Top Games, Daily Drop Jackpots, Jackpots, Megaways and Deal Or No Deal. Slingo games such as Reel King, Fluffy Favourites and Monopoly can also be found but you won't find table games or live casino. Unlike a lot of bingo brands Rio Bingo doesn't tend to run any slot promotions which may appeal to bingo players.

Featured Player Promotions

When Rio Bingo launched it offered players plenty of promotions including prize games and jackpots. However as time has ticked on and the group of sites sold to 888 it's fair to say that Rio Bingo has been left relatively unattended. There are still regular offers such as cashback and jackpots but these are limited to network offers. That said you can play for £500 cash every Sunday provided you're a qualifying depositor and you may find a deposit deal for extra free bingo tickets.

Safe Gambling

No app is required to play Rio Bingo. You can login and play as normal with mobile, tablet and desktop. This gives you access to the bingo rooms and slots. Deposits can be made safely and securely via a number of payment options including Paypal and debit cards. Like all UK bingo brands, responsible gambling is very important and therefore Rio Bingo has a number of tools you can use. These include setting deposit limits, taking time outs or cooling off periods, or choosing to self exclude from all brands powered by Dragonfish.

Penny’s Thoughts On Rio Bingo

As with it’s sister sites the main hook for Rio is the no deposit bonus and the free bingo. It’d be nice if there was more and we could say that Rio has evolved between it’s inception and today. Unfortunately, like the many stadia built for the Brazil World Cup and Olympics, this site feels like a lost opportunity. However it does serve as a useful lesson in that taking an event and creating a bingo site to ride on it’s coat tails doesn’t always work. Rio is just one in a line of others who have done this – e.g. Easter, Season, Jingle, Cracker and Spy.
